Gypsy Woman

English law describes a gypsy as such: “persons of nomadic habit of life, whatever their race or origin, but does not include members of an organised group of traveling showmen, or persons engaged in traveling circuses, traveling together.”

Gypsies (also known as Romani people or “tinkers”) often live in squalour, begging and panhandling their way through towns and cities. Some perform songs and dances for money. They are known to be thieves and vagrants and on the lower rungs of society’s ladder. When traveling through Europe, our booking agents politely advise us to be weary of them.
Never trust a gypsy.

  1. In preparing for Halloween this year, I’ve been googling “gypsy makeup” to figure out what to do with my face. Your top picture of the beautiful freckled girl keeps popping up. I thought I should tell you it’s an amazing shot. Just a beautiful picture.

(yes, I know a gypsy costume and a real gypsy aren’t the same thing 🙂

  2. “Never trust a gypsy” just like “never trust a white man” and “never trust a n*****). what a dumb, broadly decriminalizing statement. there are good and bad in EVERY race. Europeans dislike gypsies because of stereotyping and because they refuse to understand what gypsies have gone through since being cast out from India and other countries. smh. what a disappointing blog.
